Android + Device Scripts?

Android + Device Scripts?

Any doing anything with device side scripts?  It appears you can't set any variables.  Attempting it returns "Script command is not supported by device (set)".  Given that, you have almost 0 ability to use "if".  No conditionals make the script utility almost worthless.  Anyone using it conditionally?

I use the scripting functionality constantly with Android+ devices. The scripting capabilities are honestly one of the key differentiators that led us to standardize on MobiControl for all Android deployments, even without the conditionals. What is an example use case for which you would need a conditional statement? Maybe there is another method for accomplishing the same end result.

Came across this thread while trying to research how to script the deletion of old picture files (past 30 days) that are taking up space on the drive. Any recommendations for this? We have some apks that are built in house that we can adjust to do this function, but was hoping not to go that far.

Not having conditionals (If, then) with the Android scripting might make this a little difficult to accomplish with a SOTI script. I saw in another thread that you're using Zebra TC51s so you might be able to leverage the MX layer instead. SOTI can distribute an MX profile generated in StageNow and can apply the instructions to the devices.
