According to the on-line release note, time synchronization is supported on Android Enterprise devices via AE plug-ins from MobiControl v14.2.2 onwards. I did test to verify that on some of my test devices. However, I don't know if it applies to all existing AE plug-ins downloadable from the Soti official web site as of today.
Thanks RC, I'm using Zebra Android devices running Oreo with the latest AE plugin.
Time Synchronization never worked for me since day 1 (that'd be starting with MobiControl 14.0.0). Since updating the device agents to 1.3.6.0.1662 (or the prior build) I noticed the clocks were finally starting to synchronize on 14.2.2. Finally.
I totally agree with Matt: this whole "Android Enterprise" and "Android Plus" fragmentation is extremely frustrating to deal with. The documentation is a gospel of lies; I'd say half of the script commands are not even applicable to AE. The commands we do need to know about (those afw_* for starters) are nowhere to be found.
SOTI needs to step up their documentation & UI skills to clearly define the two product lines instead of blurring them. It's way overdue.
Agreed
Matt,
I was told by the SOTI engineer that I work with that the issue is that Zebra won't sign a new Plugin file that would support Time Sync.
I am with you as with my frustration with both Zebra and SOTI. We purchased the TC77 that comes with Oero of course Zebra and SOTI decided that the device would only be supported with AE. The number of AE support features is sorely lacking for the Zebra TC77.
