Is any of your apps able to render a pdf file properly if there is no lockdown menu?

You may try this:

file://%sdcard%/file.pdf

file:///mnt/sdcard/file.pdf

Have you deployed any  application run control blacklist in any of your Android+ profiles on the device?

What is the bundle ID of the app you prefer for opening your pdf files?

raymond,

no application run control on this device

the bundle id is : com.google.android.apps.docs

drive application

it's an app we have on all zebra tc 75x.

i will try to add perhpas this bundle to a white list and see what happens.

Your problem is likely due to the fact that all the pdf viewer apps are not on any app whitelist when the kiosk mode is on.  In your case, one possible way you can try is to add

  com.google.android.apps.docs

in an application-run-control whitelist with an existing/new profile.  Then, the pop-up  list of app should include the app when you click the pdf file kiosk item.  Choose the viewer app and enable the option to use it for all files of the same type/extension.  If everything goes fine, the next time you click any pdf file item, the pdf file should be directly opened without the pop-up prompt.

Please note that if your device occasionally has some unknown runtime warning/error related to other apps reported after making the above change, you might need to check if you have to add some other missing apps or services to your application-run-control whitelist.

Hello again,

I've try but nothing work ...

Add the app in the white list ...apply to the device

In this profile I have the lockdown -> html page with a link as this :

<a href="<MCLink1>">- OPEN PDF -</a>

if i click on it, a list of available application is visible but it very strange

it's application for phone or sms ...nothing about pdf file ...

i will do a factory reset of my device because my last task was to secure the device -> black list app unaccessary app and so on ..

i will test again and come in few hours ..

thanks
