APNS certificate expired warning is really annoying - can I remove the entry from the database?
How many production iOS devices is your MobiControl server managing? Do you know what will be the consequence if the APNS certificate get expired? Most administrators will be more annoyed if their APNS certificates do not get properly renewed before actual expiration. All previously enrolled iOS devices will immediately be out of control, and need to be recalled and re-enrolled. If such devices are supervised/DEP devices, re-enrollment also means device factory reset, which implies that full device back-up and restore need to be done for the end-user.
If you are not the administrator responsible for handling APNS certificate, chase after your colleague who is. The warning will stop once the renewal is complete.
Are you looking to remove the APNS certificate from MobiControl because you no longer use it to manage iOS devices? If MobiControl is managing your iOS devices, it's imperative that the APNS certificate be renewed sooner rather than later. Failure to do so will result in devices having to be re-enrolled to MobiControl.
I would like to know how to remove APNS. I have a customer who is no longer deploying IOS devices in his business, and has no intention on doing so again, but has to deal with the APNS warning from Soti. How can we remove the management so we can remove the warning?
To remove the APNS certificate from MobiControl, you'll have to delete the appropriate entry from the MobiControl database. The following SQL script will help:
DELETE FROM dbo.Settings WHERE Name = 'APNSTopicString'
