Hi,
I'd like to blacklist some applications on my Android Enterprises devices. I cannot find the option to do it via a profile (like Application Run Control for Android+). Can you help me out, please?
Cheers,
Michal

Hi Michal
What version of MobiControl are you on please?
Application Run Control is available on my Android Enterprise polices (and being used) and that's on 14.1.4.1693
Hi Eddie,
I'm on 13.4.0.5042. It's available for Android+, but when I switch the profile type for Android For Work it's not visible anymore in Configurations\Restrictions.
Application Run Control profile is supported for Android-Enterprise device-owner mode devices in MobiControl v14.
Does that mean that v13 doesn't offer any possibility to blacklist an application?
Blacklisting app in Android Enterprise device-owner mode is usually not necessary because all apps installed on the devices are already managed by default unless you allow end-user to install his/her own apks or use normal Google Play store. However, it is not totally impossible in MobiControl v13.x.
What kind of apps do you want to blacklist? Are there many?
What is your Android/Enterprise agent version and build numbers? What about the active MDM api's shown on the configuration tab of your device agent?
The problem is in the fact that I've got Samsung devices with Briefing application pre-installed. I've blocked the notifications on all devices. They're in Kiosk Mode. Some users claim that they still get the notifications from Briefin. I don't really have a possibility to verify this, but I doubt it. That's why I wanted to blacklist the application and be done with the subject.
I've got mostly 13.5.1.1234 (ELM) and 13.5.1.1273 (ELM).
Hi Michal,
You can try using the following script to see if you can manually blacklist the Briefing application.
Script:
Manualblacklist on
Manualblacklist add <Package Name>
One other possible idea would be to Administratively remove that application from the web console by selecting the device, going to installed applications, identifying the Briefing application, right clicking on it and selecting "Remove Program".
@AJMOD, can we please get a full list of scripts and macros?
I have noticed over the past year that there are lots of undocumented capabilities with SOTI which seems to only be propagating around the community via word of mouth.
