Change Android+ NFC Settings

Change Android+ NFC Settings

I'd like to turn on the NFC on every Android+ devices (Panasonic FZ-N1) we registered in Mobi. I checked which parameters were set with the "watchsettings on" script and I executed these two lines to activate NFC on a device :

writesecuresetting -glo airplane_mode_nfc_p2p 1
writesecuresetting -glo nfc_status_p2p 1

Unfortunately, this only toggles the checkbox in the settings. It doesn't show the NFC logo on the top of the screen and I can't read any NFC tags.

Is there a way to activate NFC from the MobiControl console?

Mobi version: 14.1.4.1693

Mobi agent version on device : 13.5.0 build 1327

Android version : 5.1.1

Zebra has made this possible on their Android devices through the MX layer so there may be something similar from Panasonic although I am admittedly less familiar with their OEM specific management APIs.

Hi Matt,

I contacted SOTI Support and Panasonic. SOTI told me turning on NFC remotely was not implemented yet. SOTI said they had a feature request for that, but they don't know when it will be implemented. No response from Panasonic though.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Hi Samuel,

Thank you for posting an update on your issue and letting others know that a feature request has been created. Just to confirm, did the support agent you spoke with create a feature request for you or did they just let you know that one had already been created for the same feature?

The reason I ask is that the more requests that are created to implement a feature, the more likely it is that the feature will be added into a feature release of MobiControl.

If a feature request was not created when you called SOTI support you can either message me the case number and I will create a request on your behalf or call back SOTI support and ask the support agent who assists you to create a feature request to implement NFC remotely.

Hi! The agent told me there already was a feature request, he didn't create one for me. I'll message you the case number. Thanks a lot!
