Disable Airplane mode option and Keep Mobile data always on - Android Enterprise

Disable Airplane mode option and Keep Mobile data always on - Android Enterprise

Hi

Running 14.1.4

On Android+ you had the option within Feature Control to disable airplane mode.

There appears to be no such option within Android Enterprise Feature Control

Is there a script to do the same thing I can utilise?

Also is there a way (A+ and AE) to hide/disable the ability to switch off Mobile Data.

Thanks

If the Disable Airplane Mode "in Feature-Control option is supported on a particular device model running particualr firmware and device agent verions, the button in the quick menu will not be able to turn on Airplane mode.

It should be noted that this feature-control option only works for a handful of device brands/models with OEM-specfic Android+ device agents.

There seems to be more standardized support for this feature on newer Android 10 devices running the latest generic Android-Enterprise device agents.   However, your mileage might varies with the device brand/model and firmware version.

John Doe,

Can you possibly describe HOW to disable it in the quick menu?

I'm running 15.2.0 and I, too, see the "Allow Airplane Mode" switch in Feature Control. I have it "off". Yet, I can sit there and tap the Airplane Mode button on the quick menu all I want, even in Kiosk Mode.

The switch in Feature Control is the only place I see Airplane Mode referenced. But it does not seem to be working as I would expect.

You can disable the quick menu button for airplane mode.

Kind Regards John

 Hi Eddie,

We run version 15.0.0.6019 and under Feature Control i see the option called "Allow Airplane Mode".

Regarding the Mobile Data, I do not think there is a way to disable that. I would suggest sending 'watchsettings on' then turn off and then back on mobile data yourself and see if anything shows up in the log.

Thanks,

Ashley
