error message "notification access is not available for apps in the work profile"

I get the following error message on my mobile device (Android):

"notification access is not available for apps in the work profile".

Is there some sort of policy needs to be enabled for Android devices to allow notifications?

I've tried from the mobile device itself and not clear what needs to be done

This is a known issue and SOTI Product Development team is currently working on the resolution. Can you please confirm in what scenario did you encounter this error? Do you have lockdown profile pushed to this device?

Also, please share the below information to ease our troubleshooting process:

It just came right after the device was enrolled into SOTI Mobicontrol.

Hi there, Do you have any update on this issue?

Looks like for the same reason I'm not able to install SOTI Insigt.

The package for SOTI Insight fails the installation.

Can you please send the below script to the device, to grant the permission and confirm if this works for you?

Android agent build: 13.6.0.1645 and above

Script command: request_appops_permission BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE

I got the following error after running the script on the device:

Custom log (missing ; before statement (UserScript#1))

Could you advice on the correct syntax?

Hi Avshch,

 

The above script needs to be sent from web-console via legacy script, not JavaScript.

I am experiencing the same issue. I have run the above script with Legacy option.

In the logs I receive communication back: Custom log (Notification Access Permission was revoked).

Thank you for posting your concern.

Please confirm the Android device agent build, it should be above 13.6.0.1645 to push the above script.

Also, at what point did you encounter the "notification access is not available for apps in the work profile" error?

 

The permission can usually be found via this path on the device: Settings -> Apps & notifications -> Special app access -> Notification access. The path may vary from device to device.
