Honeywell CT60 camera

Hello everyone!

I'm facing a minor issue with my Honeywell CT60 devices running Android 10. When I enroll these devices in Soti, the camera becomes inaccessible, even though no configuration or profile changes are being pushed.

Performing a factory reset restores camera functionality. However, as soon as I enroll the device in Soti, the camera vanishes again.

I've checked the device settings, specifically under "Applications and Notifications," and verified that Soti has permission to use the camera.

I've tried searching for a solution, but haven't found any similar cases.

If anyone has an idea to restore camera access, I'd greatly appreciate your help.

Thank you!

Hi Mathieu,

Do you see the camera application on the device, or from Application section on device details:

if yes, what is the Status of the camera aplication (such as uninstalled)? Did you enroll your device by using afw# method?

If you already know your device's camera bundle ID you can directly try to sending out below legacy script:

enable_system_app your_camera_application_BundleID

Or alternatively, you can try to enroll your device by using a QR code method instead of afw# methpod, by adding a enable system apps line on your QR code:

"android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_LEAVE_ALL_SYSTEM_APPS_ENABLED":true,

I hope it helps.

Hello Zafer,

I enrolled using the afw# method.

In the application, I can't see any camera installed. However, on another device ( same model and OS ) with a different configuration, I can see that there's a camera application named "Snapdragon Camera" installed under the package name "org.codeaurora.snapcamera."

I sent the script: "enable_system_app your_org.codeaurora.snapcamera," but it didn't work.

I just found something: if I open Google Chrome and press the camera icon in the search menu bar, the camera turns on and works! ( This works without needing the script )

If there's a way to activate it through SOTI, I'm all for it. It would make things easier for me.

Thanks for the help

I personally would recommend (highly) against usage of the afw method on this style of device. You will spend more time trying to manually re-enable system apps that have been disabled through this enrollment method and there will likely be many system services that are disabled that you're unaware of that could lead to unusual behavior on the device and instability. The Camera app is an obvious one but there could be honeywell utilities and tools that are missing that you're currently oblivious to. My recommendation would be a new enrollment strategy using a method that can leave all system apps enabled such as the QR method recommended by Zafer or the Honeywell Enterprise Provisioner method that I'd personally recommend. The afw method may feel convenient but it's ultimately way more manual steps for enrollment (manual connection to Wifi, manual tap through of setup wizard, etc) than scanning an enrollment barcode with the QR method or EP. AFW also puts the device in a worse off state with the system apps disabled.

Hi Mathieu,

I don't know if there's a typo in your post or not.  The script you should try is:

    enable_system_app    org.codeaurora.snapcamera

You might also need to use the same enable_system_app command on other bundle-ID('s) of software module(s) supporting this camera app.

Yes, sorry, it was a typo.
