What version of MobiControl? In 14.3 you can perform the Agent maintenance within the console under global settings. If its is any version before 14.3 you will need to work with SOTI support to perform an "agent injection" in your server.
Thanks for the info. We are still on 13.4. Sounds like I'll need to open a case with SOTI support or accelerate my upgrade path to 14.3
While the new built-in Android Agent Management function in MobiControl v14.3 is a very good feature, it should not be the only factor when considering whether the server should be upgraded or not. This is especially true if the current implementation is big or with many devices of different brands/models or of different platforms. Care should also be taken to make sure the upgrade is done properly. These considerations are essential to ensure that all enrolled devices remain supported and under full control after the upgrade.
Hi Chris,
1) New enrollment will take new agent from server. Agent is never dependent on the add device rule. Agent Injection is for the already enrolled devices.
2) You can check supported devices per server from the help doc online. As you mentioned that you are running 13.4 server, here is the link to see Android plus supported devices:-
https://www.soti.net/mc/help/v13/en/default.htm#Web/Devices/Plus/Device-Tab.htm#kanchor240
Other devices you can check at https://www.soti.net/mc/help/v13/en/default.htm#Setup/System-Requirements.htm%3FTocPath%3DInstallation%2520and%2520Setup%7C_____1, under device agent system requirements.
Hopefully, it works for you.
Thanks !
