Is it possible to send the value of a barcode scanned via email from SOTI Snap?

Is it possible to send the value of a barcode scanned via email from SOTI Snap?

Hi,

I have a few barcodes that I want to scan and then send those data values via email or some sort. Is that possible? I created a data connection for email but when trying to invoke data export, I am not able to select the email option.

Thanks,

The really first question is you want to scan with what? Camera? USB-Scanner? integrated Scanner (like Zebra TC51)?

Which device you are using?

Hi Tin, yes you can scan the barcode values and can send them by email.

You are trying the right steps to achieve that, I would like to know what kind of problem that you are facing.

Meanwhile please find step by step guide of how you will set up an export rule, which will send an email when you submit a record after scanning the barcode value using SNAP apps.

Note: Remember to Re-Publish your app after creating the rule.

Then it depends how you configured it in datawedge. We use a very simple keystroke profile and the data is entered into every input field we activate and scan on without any additional settings.

Hi Deepak, I have followed those steps and have set up an email template but that method only allows for form data to be sent and not the barcode values itself.

Hi Deepak, I have followed those steps and have set up an email template but that method only allows for form data to be sent and not the barcode values itself.

Hi Tin,

There are two parts to accomplish this:

1. Scan the barcodes via Zebra scanner to a textbox in a Snap app: In your Snap app add a textbox (one per barcode scan if they are being scanned one at a time or you can choose to scan in one and parse via Blockly/JS). On the device, when this textbox is clicked in and activated, you can pull the trigger to scan the barcode into the textbox. Repeat this for other textboxes.

2. Use Data Connection to send the barcode via email: Now that we have the scanned values in the textbox(es), you can use a Email data connection and include the textboxes where the values were scanned in the email template.

Please let me know if there are any questions.

Thanks
