Modify Android Keyboard Settings

Solved

Hi

I'm trying to modify the Android Keyboard (AOSP) settings. Is there any possibility to turn off settings that concern the Android keyboard, for example turning off vibration on keypress? I'm using an Ascom Myco 3 device with agent version 15.1.1 Build 1031.

Thanks and best regards

If a setting is not available via the native Android Enterprise management APIs and otherwise is not exposed through the native mechanisms provided by the given EMM (eg. Feature Control for SOTI) then you typically would have to go to the OEM for OEM specific configurations. Ascom has an OEMConfig app for these kind of settings that is Managed via the Play Store. I looked through the available settings and did not find anything for keyboard management but that is where I would expect to find it if they exposed that configurability. You could open a case with Ascom and request that they add that functionality to a future version of their OEMConfig app.

Just in addition: Be sure to search for the correct section to change the setting you want.

For example: Vibration on keypress should be located in sound settings on android (maybe named as haptic feedack or vibration on keypress or something like that).
