No changes after save and assign lockdown

No changes after save and assign lockdown

Hi

I have an issue with saving lockdown.

When I save and assign lockdown, I have no changes after that.

HTML code is in former version before save.

I suppose that I don't see changes when I add code(new lines) do templates. When I change existing code(existing lines) - lockdown is saving correctly.

Version: 15.2.4.1138

Hi Michał,

Thank you for posting in SOTI Central.

Can you demonstrate the issue step by step through screenshots? I just tried 15.2.3.1033 and it seems to work fine and save any new lines correctly.

Hello

Thanks for your answer.

@christopheBERNARD

I tried edit in browser ( in Mobicontrol ), but I will try to copy from VS Code to lockdown editor.

@JCMOD@SOTI

We have a lot of lines of code ( maybe it can be reason )

Steps (i can't add screenshots :( ):

  • Go to Profiles
  • Open Profile
  • Click edit
  • Go to Configuration -> Lockdown
  • Templates -> Choose template
  • Add new code and click Save script
  • After OK
  • Save and assign
  • Assign

And i don't see changes ( lockdown refresh on tablets and i have next version of profile )

Hi Michał,

Does the issue happen on a fresh lockdown template copied from one of the default templates? If it doesn't, can you state how many lines the affected template has.

Thank you for your answer.

All templates have the same problem :(

Yes, I have JS inside. I create advanced lockdowns with images from device ( rules ), JS etc.

Hello Michal,
I have the same problem with version 15.2.4.1138
I Can't modify the existing HTML templates.
Soti try to reproduce the problem with version -1 and obviously it works.
I suppose a bug of the version.

Regards.

Have you tried using a device agent of different version/build-number?

Hi Michal,

Following up on this thread, Please follow the steps below to create a new template. The easiest way to create a custom lockdown menu template is to make a copy of one of the default templates and customize it.

  1. While editing the Lockdown or Kiosk Mode profile configuration, select the Templates button to open the Edit Menu Template List dialog box.
  2. Select an existing menu template and then select the Copy button.
  3. With the new template selected, select the Edit button to open the Lockdown Menu Template Editor. You can edit the template directly in the Lockdown Menu Template Editor dialog box or copy the HTML document into your favorite text editor to edit and then paste it back into the Lockdown Menu Template Editor when you are finished.
  4. Customize the menu template to your satisfaction. Follow the guidelines below for best results.
  5. When you are satisfied with your changes, save your new template by selecting the OK button in the Lockdown Menu Template Editor dialog box.

Select the Rename button to enter a new name for your menu template in the New File Name field.

If the above does not work, Please create a support case(click here) or call SOTI Support team(click here). SOTI Engineers will look into the logs for further investigation.

Also, if this post has helped you in your inquiry, I would request you to mark the particular comment as "is solution", so others may benefit from this information.

I have seen this happen as well.

I have 'fixed' my issue by revoking the lockdown profile, then re-assigning. The lockdown then reloads with my updated lockdown changes applied.

ALL of the devices show that the lockdown is installed and lockdown is assigned to all devices in the group.
