The error that you are getting may be displayed because of the windows restrictive security policies.

Even though you are probably the administrator on your PC, this error message might say the opposite. This can be a bug and we can try to solve it using few of the techniques mentioned below -

1. Run the setup file as an administrator
Open the RC setup file > Right-click > Run as admin > agree to all popup alerts.

2. Turn off User Account Control (UAC)
On your PC > Start > Type "Change User Account Settings" > Change the slider to "never notify" > Restart the PC and try to install the software again.

If this did not work for you then may be the Local Security Policy need to be edited.

3. Local Security Policy

Hold the windows key + R > Enter "gpedit.msc" in Run dialog box and press enter > Computer Configurations > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Installer > Now navigate to the right hand side > Double Click on "Turn off Windows Installer" policy option, choose the "Enabled" option and set the Disable Windows Installer option to Never > Apply

Restart your computer in order to save the changes and try to run the installer.

In regards to your question, please verify the RC plugin that you are trying to install. 

Is it the legacy remote control or SOTI assist ?

I would appreciate if you can provide us with some additional detail about the issue by providing us the steps or any error messages that you are facing.

We use the legacy version of the RC.

The error massage says:

"Windows Installer"

"The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation."

This is a curious message because I've rights to install SOTI Mobicontrol ... And it works.

I've check the compatibility before requesting check for the customer's virtual machine.
