Hello Edgar,
Thank you for contacting SOTI Inc. in regards to our handheld solutions.
In regards to your question, unfortunately SOTI doesn't have any specific script by which you can change the default APN in Android devices.
However, MobiControl allows to configure a APN profile under Android Platform which enables you to centrally manage these settings.
You can also manually setup a new APN from device side by going to - Settings > wireless & network > mobile networks > Access Point Names > Add new
Let me know if you have further questions.

What device?
Hello. Thank you for your reply.
I've seen this configuration, but in this case the user needs a privete APN for a specific app and the public APN for the other apps, so we where thinking of a script for the lockdown to change the APN and then launch the app.
Hi. I am a new SOTI user, and would like to know how to configure the APN settings, as the guide provided, does not work for the mobile devices we have.
We are using SOTI Enterrprise and have created the Android Plus profile to push out the rerquired APN settings to our devices, all of which are Samsung Galaxy a5 2017 on Android 8.0.0
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Richard
Hi Richard,
Thank you for requesting an answer from SOTI Support.
In regards to your question, you mentioned that you are using SOTI Enterprise? Is this in regards to your devices being enrolled into MobiControl as Android Enterprise devices?
Configuring APN settings through profiles is only compatible with devices that have been enrolled as Android Plus devices in MobiControl.
Assuming that your devices are enrolled as Android Plus and your profile is configured correctly, are you getting any errors in the devices logs when the profile is pushed? Does the profile install on the device?
Looking forward to your response.

Hi.
Thanks for the info. I raised a support ticket and was informed that APN settings for Enterprise is only availabe via version 14.2. Pushing out APN settings to lesser versions in not possible.
Hi Richard,
From what I am reading here you have setup a Android Enterprise device and then you are sending a Android Plus profile to it.
Usually this will not install and/or work based on the mismatch. Try sending an Enterprise profile to the devices instead or enrolling it as a Android plus device.
@Edgar have you considered a VPN/ per app VPN as a way of obtaining your goal?

Hi,
No, I had enrolled the devices on Enterprise and I wanted to push the APN settings out to the devices. But on the SOTI version we were using, the option wasn't there. After contacting Support directly, our SOTI was updated to version 14.2.
Version 14.2 now allows for APN settings to be pushed out to Enterprise devices as well as Android Plus.
This was resolved two weeks ago, but thank you for the reply.
HI Edgar,
That sounds awesome. Let me go ahead and solution the post for you!
Thanks as well for the response and follow up.
Take care.

Hei guys, is it possible to limit the device roaming ability through selected carrier only?
For example if 1 Device already enrolled through Android Enterprise, and then the device is use abroad, can we limit the device only roaming through carrier that we already set?
i do some testing, i bind the Device with the selected Local Carrier, and use the other SIM card, but the Device still can detect the SIM Card carrier, i guess the device should be forbidden to detect the SIM Card carrier?
and beside the APN setting at Mobi Control, should we set the APN setting at the device too?
Sorry for the long question.. Hope someone can help..
