Seems you have a handle on the possible issues and only you can answer them. Do you in fact have 443 access from the deployment server to the addresses in question? That answer probably dictates your solution...
You need to open port 443 to SOTI services from management servers.
I tried it again today and now the upgrade is working fine.
Talked to my colleague, he didn't change anything too. Maybe it was just a temporarly issue. Or the Firewall Team changed something without telling us.
