Zebra TC57 - Scan function is disabled

When taking the device out of the box, the device has a wedge app that can able you to test it out.  You can also take any app that will accept a scan and it will work.

When I install the Mobicontrol agent, it strips away all apps that enable the scan function.  Now when i go to a test app to scan something, no laser will show when the side buttons are pressed.  Why would the agent strip that function away?

It is likely the enrollment method that you're using that is leaving the device in the state with so many system apps disabled. The DPC identifier enrollment method (afw#mobicontrol) has this behavior by default for Android Enterprise Device Owner based enrollment. You could try to individually re-enable system apps with the enable_system_app MobiControl script however you will be hard pressed to determine just how many system apps and services have been disabled beyond just DataWedge that could impact the performance of the device. You will need to instead Factory Reset the device(s) and use an alternate enrollment method like QR or NFC that allows you to configure the DPC extras that determine whether system apps like DataWedge should be enabled post enrollment. I personally recommend the StageNow method for AEDO enrollment of Zebra Android devices as you can accomplish a full enrollment in 1-2 scans versus manually typing in "afw#mobicontrol" as you likely did.

Thank you, Matt.  Do you know of a resource or have knowledge of where I can find good detailed documentation for how to use StageNow?
